The circular issued by the Director of Higher Education directed the Heads of Educational Institutes of affiliated colleges to take appropriate decisions to conduct offline classes for the academic year of 2021-2022. The institutes hold the discretion regarding the reopening of on-campus classes based on the on-ground situation and infrastructure availability. Educational centres have to follow the prescribed SOPs related to COVID-19 safety, the order reads.

As per reports, the order only includes graduate and post-graduate students. All members of the staff who have not been vaccinated will have to certify their negative COVID status by producing an RT-PCR test report every week. Staffers who could not be inoculated because of earlier infection have been exempted from this rule.
