Schools in Goa to resume offline classes for students of IX-XII from October 18

As the COVID situation continues to improve in the state, Goa's Task Force for COVID management has decided to reopen schools for students of classes IX to XII from Monday. As per the announcement made by the Chief Minister of the state on Wednesday, offline classes will resume in a staggered manner from October 18. Previously, the administration had issued a circular permitting offline examination for students of classes XI and XII in the state.

This resumption of offline classes for IX, X and Higher Secondary classes were recommended by the state's COVID-19 expert committee. Reportedly, a circular enlisting all the SOP's to curb the spread of coronavirus will be issued by the department of education very soon. Additionally, schools will have to adhere to the stipulated guidelines and follow all the existing COVID protocols. According to a member of the Task Force, parents requested reopening of schools for younger students as well but the final decision on this issue will be taken after Diwali.
