Goa recorded 94 infections on Friday, within the cap of 100 cases, after about 10 days of reporting high tallies. This, along with the shooting number of 124 recoveries, which is much higher than the fresh cases. The active caseload in the state has plunged below the negative equator, bringing respite to the state authorities and people, who feared an active spread amid ramped tourist influx during the holiday season.

Goa authorities had buckled up by imposing strict protocols and guidelines for domestic travellers reaching Goa this festive season to arrest the transmission of coronavirus. And it seems, these preventive and punitive directives have yielded positive results for the tourist magnet. Though the state has resumed most usual operations, a strict SOP has been authorised to monitor the activities. The administration has also doubled the fine to ₹200 for not wearing a face mask, directed as mandatory by the state in the middle of a pandemic.
After about 10 days, the state of Goa recorded 94 cases, in the 100-case range, falling below the number of daily recoveries. Besides this, Goa also recorded zero deaths due to the virus infection on Friday, after a period of 5 days, during which, about 10 fatalities were recorded as per health records. The total toll is pegged at 696 deaths.
So far, the state has recorded a total aggregate of 48,459 cases of coronavirus since its outbreak in March. The virus growth has been arrested at 0.3% since November, which has taken the active caseload to a total of 1388 patients. The recuperation rate stands at 95.7%, which is higher than the national average at 94.3%, furnishing 46,375 recoveries in the state.
