While other states across the country are imposing restrictive protocols and guidelines to contain the growth and transmission of COVID-19, Goa has not implemented any such binding norms. While the Chief Minister has stated that the cases are increasing "day by day", no decision has yet been finalised to impose restrictions as precautionary measures here. Further, the CM has sought people's help for keeping a check on the spread of the deadly virus.

"Covid cases are increasing day by day. It is the responsibility of both (government and people)... the government keeps urging people to take care of themselves. We advise social distancing and other (SOPs). We want to test in a big way. People should take care of themselves and get themselves tested," the Chief Minister stated while speaking to media personnel at a government function in Panjim.

He also added that the state is personally monitoring the situation and people's cooperation is needed to keep the COVID situation in control as fresh cases are emerging in Goa. The state has around 2,077 active COVID-19 patients who are receiving dedicated treatment and medical help. Besides treatment, a full-fledged vaccination drive is also being conducted here to develop immunity against coronavirus.

A total of 265 new cases were reported in Goa on Sunday, taking the total tally to about 59,068 cases, since the outbreak of the virus. About 56,156 people have been treated for the virus, 835 have died in the state after testing positive for the virus.
