From 378 cases in May, the monthly count in June rose to 2,917 while in July, over 1,000 cases were recorded till Sunday.

Goa being the country's most popular beach state has high inflation of travellers dropping in and out of the state. Even after proper precautions, COVID cases continue to rise as the state reported 108 new cases on Sunday taking Goa's active case tally to 845.

With 898 tests being conducted in a single day, Goa's positivity rate now stands at 12.02% against Saturday's 10.19%. Additionally, a marginal decrease was observed in the recovery rate from 98.14% to 98.12%.
