The nesting season of Olive Ridley turtles in India has begun. The first Olive Ridley of this season arrived on Sunday at Talpona beach in Canacona, South Goa. As per reports, the turtles laid a total of 93 eggs which have now been shifted to a safe enclosure at the Galgibaga beach.

Every year during the season, hundreds of turtles lay eggs at Agonda and Galgibaga beaches. Now, the 2022 nesting season has been kickstarted by the arrival of the Olive Ridley turtle at the Talpona beach which comes as a moment of joy for forest conservation officials. Moreover, work to set up safe enclosures at Talpona beach have also been started by the officials.
