Goa becomes the first state in India to not only receive the ‘Har Ghar Jal‘ certification but also to provide QR-enabled water bill payment.

With an aim to improve the billing and revenue collection system in Goa, Union Minister launched the QR-based water bill payment system. With this new system in place, consumers can make payments using UPI (Unified Payment Interface) apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and more.

Har Ghar Nal Yojana has been launched by the Central Government. Through this scheme, clean water will be made available to every household in the country, till 2024. Though Goa had achieved the 'Har Ghar Jal' target much earlier, the certificate was not awarded until every panchayat representative sent a recorded message confirming the same, stated officials.
