Every monsoon, the water bodies in Goa epitomise in a different avatar. Unlike the rest of the year, beaches become not so important as the hinterland during the monsoon shows its other side. And one place that mesmerises everyone during the monsoon is Salaulim Dam in Goa, which was closed for visitation for the past couple of years due to the pandemic hiatus.

However, the wait is now over, as the Water Resource Department (WRD) has finally started the visitation for tourists and the locals at this dam. As visible in the picture, the Salaulim dam is an Earthen dam, shaped in a semi-circle that allows the water to overflow via a duckbill, offering a visitor a spectacular sight.

Following the COVID-19 protocol, entry to the dam was prohibited since March 2020. The authorities had however permitted the travellers to visit the botanical garden located on the other side of the damn last year.
