With 112 new cases on Sunday, the tally of active COVID-19 cases in Goa reaches 928

On Sunday, Goa logged around 112 fresh COVID-19 cases, marking the 6th consecutive day of over 100+ case rise here. With this new additon, the tally of active cases in the state stands at 928 patients, with a positivity rate of 11.7% which is about 2.5% higher than that of the national average.

Two pandemic related deaths were also recorded here in the last 24 hours, both fatalities being elederly men of 70 and 75 years suffering from multiple chronic diseases like hypertension, comorbidities, kidney diseases and the likes.

It may be noted here that the last COVID death in Goa was reported in June 13. In the months preceding that, in April and May, the state recorded zero deaths virus deaths. Statistics further reveal that Goa last reported two-deaths in a single day was about 3 months ago, on March 30.
