In a bid to further the goal of 'good quality housing' in Goa, the state has decided to provide three LPG cylinders to local families that fall below the poverty line.

All households that have less that ₹4 lakh annual income can avail of the scheme, by June end. As per reports, around 37,000 families in Goa are eligible for the scheme in the current financial year.

Usually a family requires six cylinders per year and the government will be reimbursing the cost of three, from a budget of ₹36 crores sanctioned for the same, Rural Development Agency Minister said. The administration will keep a track of the number of cylinders used by eligible beneficiaries.
