Restricted water supply on August 25 for people of Bardez, Goa

Following damage to the main pipeline at Karrasvaddo, Mapusa, the Public Works Department (PWD), Goa has announced restricted water supply for the entire locality of Bardez and parts of Bicholim taluka. The supply of water will be unavailable on August 25.

According to officials, a main conveying pipeline has suffered damage while laying down of underground electricity cable, at Mapusa.

Pipeline damage will cause discomfort to over 2,00,000 people in North Goa

Bardez is situated in the northern portion of Goa, in the Konkan region of the Indian subcontinent. The damage to the main pipeline will likely cause discomfort to almost 2,52,737 people living in Bardez, right now. The distance between Karrasvaddo and Bardez is approximately 7 kms. According to officials at PWD, at least three pipelines, including the main pipeline, have been damaged while undertaking the underground cabling work at Karrasvaddo.

Reportedly, the repair of the pipeline has already commenced and water is being released in limited quantity.
