Celebrate and rediscover Goa’s rich culture and heritage through a kaleidoscopic lens at the vibrant Goa Heritage Festival, which is scheduled to take place this November! This Herculean five-day event will toast Goa’s culture, arts and history, through brilliant live performers and craftsmen.

Organised and curated by Goa Heritage Action Group (GHAG), the festival will be held at Campal, along the Mandovi riverfront. Panaji’s Campal neighbourhood promises unique quarters, renowned for their riverfront gardens, beautiful buildings, and community spirit.

What to expect at Goa Heritage Festival, 2022

Highlighting Goa’s versatile heritage which is a blend of Portuguese and Indian culture, this year, the festival aims to be a zero-waste event. However, this seems to be a far-fetched dream (fingers crossed). A total of 40 Goan artists, 43 Goan crafts persons, 20 heritage walks and tours which explain facets of Goa’s heritage are waiting to mesmerise you. These are experiences to walk you through Goa’s antiquity, and you can partake in them between November 15-19.

An outstanding gallery displaying numerous heritage pictures of ancient Goa, and the traditional lifestyle of Goans will draw history buffs out here too. Stalls will be placed to showcase unparalleled crafts of Goa such as marco, coconut crafts, woodcraft, pottery, crochet, handicrafts, hand-painted tiles, and lots more.

And there’s more!

No festival is complete without the mouthwatering, divine food that people can gorge upon while hopping from one stall to another. Around 20 local culinary and beverage outlets will be set up to offer traditional food of Goa to the visitors at Goa Heritage Festival, 2022. A dedicated kids zone will be set up for children where they can immerse themselves in activities like craft, games and reading sessions.

Knock Knock

Goa's rich culture is deeply rooted in the beach state. The past is vibrant and glorious, and if you're curious to learn more, and enjoy while you're at it, the Goa Heritage Festival 2022 is where you've got to be.
