Amidst the overarching winners Everything Everywhere All At Once bagging majority of titles at Oscars 2023, India managed to make all proud by writing history in two categories.

The 95th Academy Awards saw a clangorous roar by the Indian cinema the moment the song Naatu Naatu, RRR's chartbuster, won the Best Original Song award. The famed Telugu song, that has continuously made people groove to it and stayed at the crescendo since release, beat music legends like Lady Gaga and pop icons like Rihanna to emerge triumphant.

Besides the famed song that is being talked about globally, India held its own by showcasing another winner — The Elephant Whisperers, by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga, in the Best Documentary Short Film's category. It was Guneet Monga originally, the woman who had previously won Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film for the documentary on menstrual revolution, Period. End of Sentence.
