The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has deployed more than 900 ambulances at toll plazas on national highways of the country for possible emergencies. Ensuring timely medical treatment to those who need immediate help on the road, the facility of ambulance has been provided at a gap of 50 kilometers or at toll plazas on the highways.

NHAI has also issued instructions to make the public aware about the 1033 helpline number. Posters or hoardings will be installed near toll plazas and signboards will be erected along the national highways of India to spread awareness about the same.

On proper implementation of the aforementioned steps, any person who has been subjected to injury or accident could get timely medical attention, and, thus, could save numerous lives.
