After a successful debut season, the Women's Premier League is expected to return in a bigger avatar next year. As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the tournament will take place around February, 2024. The first edition of the tournament was held in Mumbai from March 4-26 where Mumbai Indians lifted the trophy by beating Delhi Capitals, by seven wickets in the final at the Brabourne Stadium.

Next WPL could be in home-and-away format

As per BCCI secretary Jay Shah, to build a better fan base, the next three seasons of Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be played in a home and away format with five teams.

Women’s cricket now has a dedicated audience base and this number will only keep growing encouraging turnout at the next WPL.
