The railway station is being built at a cost of Rs. 15 crore, and an additional Rs. 2 crore will be spent on the platform and related developmental projects. This aims to cater to the growing needs and demands of the city.

A new track is being constructed near Laxmi Bai Nagar station, along with the development of a new platform. Additionally, railway officials have structured a plan to demolish the existing building and replace it with a modern and well-equipped structure. This new building will offer various amenities, including a waiting hall and ticket counter.

The Railway Station's Development to Benefit Bhagirathpura Line

Additionally, in the new railway station, apart from the existing platform, a new building will be constructed in the Ban Ganga area. With the development of this section of the station, people from the western region, including areas like Ban Ganga, Aerodrome, and Marimata, will find it easier to catch trains from this station. Moreover, the station will also provide connectivity to the MR-4 (Metro Rail Line 4).

Notably, The Laxmi Bai Nagar Railway Station will undergo a doubling of the line towards Bhagirathpura. As part of this project, the parking area will be removed to make way for new tracks. Further to add, the old ticket counter and platform will be replaced with a modern building and platform. This new structure will be developed in a modern and environmentally friendly manner. It will be designed with proper ventilation and climate control. To facilitate movement between platforms, an escalator will also be installed from one platform to the other.
