Taking huge strides in sustainable energy, Western Madhya Pradesh residents are showing a keen interest in green energy sources. A total of 11,300 residential and commercial establishments now actively participate in the production of solar energy, according to the latest data.

Indore well on its way to become a 'Solar City'

It is noteworthy that Indore has set itself the goal of becoming a 'Solar City', with the aim of generating up to 300 MW of power in three years, from 2023. And thanks to the rooftop solar net meter scheme and the subsidy it provides, Indore has made huge strides towards reaching that goal.

Apart from Indore, neighbouring cities like Ujjain have also performed well in terms of opting for solar energy. In fact, Ujjain city witnessed the installation of more than 900 rooftop solar power systems, and the district as a whole reported more than 1,300 new connections.
