Indore aims to be world's first energy literate city within the next 100 days | Know how!

A collective effort towards a greener future.

Jatin Shewaramani

After securing the title of 'Cleanest City of India' for seven consecutive years, Indore is now striving to become the world's first energy literate city, with a mission to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. The Indore Municipal Corporation has launched a year-long campaign under the 'Indore Climate Mission,' aimed at conserving 2 crore units of electricity citywide within this period.

The campaign's first phase, which began on December 1, will run for 100 days. During this phase, citizens will be educated on sustainable energy and empowered to use it. This will also focus on unnecessary power consumption to curb carbon emissions.

To bolster this initiative, IMC has signed an MoU with the Energy Swaraj Foundation, a dedicated organisation committed to sustainability education. As part of the campaign, the foundation will educate 3-5 lakh citizens on sustainable energy practices, making this a collective effort towards a greener future.
