Land has been acquired for the the new ATC at Indore airport, which will have the capability to control aircrafts from 150 km away, has already been done by Member of Parliament, Shankar Lalwani.

Indore airport will also get a new communication building

The new air traffic control tower is not the only upgradation that Indore airport will see. A new fire station and communication building will also come up soon at the airport, taking the cost of all three upgrades to somewhere around ₹80 crore. In fact, the new fire station will be built in line with advanced safety benchmarks to ensure that the airport can cater to large aircrafts as well.

Furthermore, the decision to build a new air traffic control tower at Indore airport was arrived at because the existing tower had gotten old and also had limited capabilities. The new air traffic control tower, on the other hand, will be equipped with advanced radar technology. Once the new tower is up and running, it will also enable Indore airport to cater to more flights per hour.
