As the completion of the Indore Metro rail project inches closer, the authorities have announced certain changes to the route and station locations. The most important change along the route is that the metro line from Palasia to the airport will be underground, in an effort to minimize the on-road traffic on the route.

The trial run for Indore metro is scheduled for September

According to officials at MP Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), locations of some of the metro stations will also be changed, in addition to a smattering of other refinements. For instance, the metro line passing near Rajwada Palace will be at a distance of at least 250 meters, to make sure the heritage site does not get adversely affected.

As for the current status of the project, the workforce has been increased by more than two times in order to make sure that the target of conducting the trial run for Indore metro in September is met. Coaches for Indore metro, that are being built in Vadodara, are expected to be delivered by May end to speed up the process.
