Indore to be linked with upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Rau-Dewas bypass

A 173-kilometre stretch is being built to connect Indore to Garod on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway

Ushering better connectivity, Indore is all set to be linked with India's longest expressway soon! To broaden connectivity, a new four-lane expressway between Dewas, Ujjain and Garod is being branched out of India's longest expressway. A 173-kilometre stretch is being built to connect Indore to Garod on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway. With the proposed Rau-Dewas bypass, Indore will be connected with the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor in future.

Estimated to be built with ₹1890 crores, upon completion, the expressway will also help in fuelling economic progress across Indore and Ujjain through better integration with the national capital and financial capital of India. Augmenting connectivity and driving developmental activities in the cities, this expressway will act as a boon for the people of these districts.

Notably, the 1,350-kilometre-long expressway will pass through 245 kilometres in Madhya Pradesh. Out of this, work on the stretch of 106 kilometres has already been commenced as of now. According to reports, the entire phase of work in the state is likely to conclude by November 2022. Once completed, this expressway will not only reduce the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 12 hours but also connect Madhya Pradesh to these cities as well.
