Foreign bound students, employees & sportspersons to be inoculated on priority in Indore

The Madhya Pradesh government has called for priority vaccination of sportspersons, students and professionals who will take foreign trips in the near future. As per reports, the District Vaccination Officer for Indore, Dr. Praveen Jadiya has asked all such people to visit the office on Monday with all related documents. The second dose of Covishield will be administered to them on priority, even if the mandated difference interval of 84 days between the two jabs is not complete.

2nd dose to be given if 28-day interval is complete

It has been reported all the eligible individuals under the three categories will be vaccinated on priority, through a regulated process. Functional till 31 August 2020, this scheme would allow foreign bound beneficiaries to take the second Covishield jab once the prior stated 28-day interval is complete. As per reports, citizens lying in the following three groups can take advantage of the upcoming drive-

  • Students who have to travel abroad after being admitted to foreign colleges or universities
  • Individuals who have to undertake foreign trips due to office projects
  • Athletes, players and other staff participating in the Tokyo Olympics

Passport mandatory for taking the second jab

All such people will have to produce their passports for getting the vaccination benefit. Further, it has also been reported that the inoculation certificates of such people shall carry their passport numbers. If the passport was not used for the first dose registration, then the used photo ID card will also be attached to the vaccination certificate. If it is required, the immunisation officer will issue a different certificate, reportedly.
