The Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned about 20 acres of land for the expansion of Indore Airport. As per reports, bigger aircrafts will also be facilitated by stretching the airstrip length to the required 4,250 metes. This project will also augment the movement of international flights and therefore, ease of travel for several commuters. This project will also facilitate the movement of cargo flights from the city, added reports.

State authorities have reached out to the central government to develop an international-level logistics hub in Indore. A step towards global standards, it will upgrade the overall stature of the airport. It may be noted here that the Indore airport has further been granted the Centre's in-principle permission to begin e-visa services at the premises. This too has been envisioned in the best interests of the travellers.
