International passengers arriving from 'at-risk' countries that test negative on arrival are supposed to undergo a mandatory home quarantine for 7 days and take a test for COVID again on the 8th day again. Meanwhile, as per the standard laid-down procedure, those who turn positive upon arrival from these countries will be taken for institutional quarantine. Apart from this, the contacts of these patients will also be put under home or institutional quarantine as per the existing guidelines

With fresh COVID cases increasing every day, the risk of the Omicron variant entering the city goes up as well. While emphasising on vaccination, the administration has urged the general public to strictly follow all the stipulated protocols in order to steer clear from this infection.
