According to the Madhya Pradesh regional weather department, a low-pressure system will intensify in the state for the next 48 hours, favouring light and moderate rains in the upcoming week. Notably, up until 8:30 AM on Friday, Indore had recorded about 51.2 mm of rains, significantly higher than Malanjkhand, Sagar and Betul.

The monsoon activity is expected to gain strength here and in line with the same, the agency has also edged a weather alert in MP. While heavy rains are expected to wash Betul, Khargone, Bhind, Datia, Dewas, Tikamgarh, in Chhatarpur districts, lightning and thunderstorms will frequent Sagar, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Gwalior, Chambal, Indore, Shahdol divisions.

Moderate to light showers will also characterise the weather forecast for the coming week, bring light to moderate showers to Shahdol, Jabalpur, Indore and Ujjain. Sparse rains are also likely in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Hoshangabad, Rewa and Sagar divisions.
