COVID protocol defaulters at public places in Indore to be put in temporary jails

The temporary jail inmates are being observed by 15 officers and CCTV cameras.

Assuring the second wave of COVID pandemic is quickly controlled, Indore district authorities are implementing a list of multi-dimensional measures. As per reports, a jail official informed that citizens loitering without a mask in public places are being put in temporary confinement. While individuals who flout the guidelines are being warned initially, the authorities are taking strict steps if they still don't adhere to the protocol.

As per the instructions given by the local administration, a temporary jail has been set in the community centre in the Snehlataganj area of Indore. Reportedly, the superintendent of the central jail in the city informed about the same. In order to ensure a strict watch on the people kept in this short-term confinement, 15 officers have been stationed at the prison. In addition to this, CCTV cameras have also been set up for monitoring the defaulters.

According to reports, the prison officer acquainted that 20 people from the Khajrana region were the first to be kept in this facility after complaints under section 151 of the CrPC were filed against them. Given the accelerating rate of infections, it is important the citizens follow all guidelines, ensuring the security of themselves and the fellow residents.
