Indore Police deploys 200 lady constables for enhanced traffic management at intersections

Jatin Shewaramani

To tackle Indore's persistent traffic management challenges, the city's police department has implemented a strategic initiative and deployed 200 women constables.

These dedicated constables are stationed at key intersections throughout Indore and have undergone specialized training to effectively manage traffic issues.

More about the initiative

Indore, as the most densely populated city in Madhya Pradesh, grapples with frequent traffic congestion, necessitating a consistent presence of law enforcement to ensure smooth flow of vehicles.

The decision to deploy a team of women constables has garnered commendation from various city authorities and their male counterparts. Despite the perceived notion that women police personnel might be less effective in managing motorists, the police department ensures rigorous training with identical protocols for both women and men in the force.

This approach ensures that women are equally proficient in traffic deployment.
