The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has finally approved two ropeway routes, marking a significant milestone in the city's public transportation development. Initially proposed in January 2021, the project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.

The first route will stretch from Chandan Nagar Square to Shivaji Square, covering key areas including Gangwal Bus Stand and Sarvate Bus Stand. The second route will connect Indore Railway Station to Vijay Nagar Square, passing through Malwa Mill and Patnaipura Square.

The IDA board has authorised a detailed survey of these routes, with the project expected to cover 13.07 kilometres and include multiple stations. Tenders will be invited to conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, bringing the long-awaited cable car project closer to reality.

The initiative represents an innovative approach to urban transportation, potentially revolutionising public transit in Indore.
