The usage of drone technology has experienced rapid expansion across various fields, encompassing policing, monitoring, defence, and even commercial applications.

Now for the first time, a team from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (a part of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore) participated in the SAE drone development challenge event held in Chennai. The team comprised mechanical engineering students who were tasked with designing, fabricating and flying a radio-controlled aircraft during the event.

Students from Indore participated in the competition under two categories, regular and micro class, which have different payload capacities. Furthermore, by embracing emerging technologies like drones and engaging in competitions, IET Indore and other academic institutions continually contribute to the advancement and innovation in the field of engineering.
