Knocksense Shorts| Indore and Bhopal Metro Projects to get French Alstom trains

The French company will provide 27 train sets to Bhopal and 25 train sets to Indore

French mobility company, Alstom, was awarded a Rs. 3,200 crore contract to supply 156 Movia metro train sets to Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) Indore and Bhopal metro projects on July 6th. Alstom is obligated to provide 27 train sets to Bhopal Metro and 25 train sets to Indore metro. They will also be in charge of maintenance of the sets for 15 years.

Along with this, the French company is also responsible for supplying, installing, manufacturing, designing, testing, and commissioning 52 standard gauge Movia metro passenger train sets in a 3-car configuration each.

The delivery of the trains is expected by August 2023. These ultramodern trains will travel at a speed of 80 km/h on the 31 km route in Bhopal, which will have 30 stations, and the 31.5 km line in Indore, which will have 29 stations.
