Knocksense Shorts | Indore residents to now get electricity bills on WhatsApp

Jatin Shewaramani

Expanding smart customer-oriented services and providing enhanced convenience to bill payers, the Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Company will send electricity bills through WhatsApp, starting January 2023.

With this upgrade, the consumers will be able to view the full bill page, past transactions and other related info on WhatsApp. For ease, users will be given with a direct link that will redirect them to a payment portal.

The company has registered mobile numbers of about 47 lakh electricity consumers in its database. To enable new services, the database is being linked to the Bharat Bill Payment Service (BBPS) and the electricity company's next-gen billing software. Furthermore, bills will start appearing on registered mobiles of electricity consumers from January, once the preparations are completed.
