To commemorate the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 30, several cities in MP have granted free bus tickets to girls and women. In Indore, the Mayor and Chairman of Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL), Pushyamitra Bhargava, along with the Chairperson of the Indore Development Authority (IDA) Jaipal Singh Khavda, extended a generous offer of free bus tickets to all the girls and women in the city, on August 30, as a gift for Rakhi.

In a similar gesture, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu has announced that women will be provided free transportation on the Jabalpur Metro Bus on Raksha Bandhan. This initiative is intended to facilitate the journey of sisters who have travelled from far-off places to tie Rakhi to their brothers, thus allowing them to travel freely throughout the city.
