In a bid to make Indore traffic safer, Indore Traffic Police has initiated a traffic awareness drive focusing on enforcing the helmet law in the city. It will now be mandatory for riders to wear helmets while riding on city roads. Additionally, as per the officials, pillion riders will also be required to wear a helmet.

Reportedly, the awareness campaign was kicked off last Thursday after a High Court order. Taking its Road Safety campaign one step forward, Indore Traffic Police on Monday, appealed to the people to wear helmets and also honoured those who were following proper rules with roses.

Additionally, the city police have actively been involved in the awareness campaign. The officials have been putting up posters at public spaces such as filling stations and railway stations. Moreover, officials have also asked government and private organisations in the city to ask their employees to wear helmets while commuting. More information regarding the penalising system is still awaited.
