No hoardings allowed on footpaths and intersections from now, says Indore High Court

The court has also issued a notice to the Municipal Commissioner regarding the same.

The matter of hoardings on Indore's footpaths and intersections has reached Indore High Court after a PIL was filed regarding the same. And the court has agreed with the PIL, saying that no advertising hoardings shall be allowed on roads, intersections and footpaths in Indore from now on.

Court has identified 29 hoardings in the city that cause traffic congestion

Hearing the PIL, Indore High Court has pointed out that there are, at least, 29 hoardings on city roads and intersections that disrupt the flow of traffic. The next hearing on the issue has been scheduled for June 12 and the court has clarified that no such hoardings should come up in the city in the meanwhile.

Furthermore, a notice has also been issued to the Municipal Commissioner asking why such hoardings, which also cause traffic congestion, were allowed in the first place.
