In a refreshing initiative, SoftGrid Computers, a software firm from Indore has gone a step further to encourage their employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance with help of a tracker software which locks their systems once their working hours are over and urges them to go home.

Turning the tables on work burnout

A look at the work-life balance statistics in India makes us realize how applause-worthy such a move is. In fact, according to a recent report by LinkedIn, 33% of Indian working professionals looking to switch jobs cited the 'lack of work-life balance' as the reason. Furthermore, the adverse effects of burnout at work on an employee's personal and professional life are already well-documented.

And in a working environment where some companies use tracking software to see if employees are working their full quota of hours, use of a similar tracking software by SoftGrid Computers to warn employees to not work beyond office hours is a move as revolutionary as it is exemplary and will hopefully inspire other firms to follow suit.
