Super Priority Corridor of Indore Metro to start trial run by September, 2023

At a recent MPMRCL meeting, it was decided that the Indore Metro Project would be expedited to meet the September deadline.

According to a senior officer at MPMRCL, the trial run on the 5.9 Km long, Super Priority Corridor of Indore Metro will take place in September 2023. With a 2.5 time increase in workforce, the stretch between Gandhi Nagar and Super Corridor (S3) has officers working day and night to meet the deadline. For speedy progress, all issues including the approval of drawings, designs and plans have been resolved in coordination with the agencies concerned.

As per reports, the main depot of the Indore Metro has been planned at a 26.25-hectare location in Gandhi Nagar.

The coaches for Indore Metro are being crafted in Baroda, and proposed to be delivered by the end of May. Similarly, metro tracks for the elevated corridor will be delivered by February 20, while another agency is preparing to lay down the tracks.

At the same time, works at stabling yards, inspection pits and depots are underway. Moreover, managerial-level officials have been roped in Indore for supervision of the project. 

All in all, the process to start trial and operational run of the Indore Metro Rail is ongoing at a fast pace and the construction of the stations, which will be quipped with advanced facilities, has also commenced.
