Veer Shivaji Cycle marathon to be held in Indore on Feb 19

Indore is getting ready for the Veer Shivaji cycle marathon to be held in the city on February 19, under Khelo India. The cyclothon is one of the several events being held across the country on the same date, marking the 393rd birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Indoris of all ages have registered for the event

The cycle marathon, which will start from Lalbagh complex at 6 AM will culminate at the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at Indore's Shivaji Vatika. Men and women from all ages and walks of life have already registered for the marathon, including a five-year-old girl to a sixty-five-year old senior citizen who regularly cycles 7 kilometers in the city.

Saffron flags fitted to participants' cycles along with saffron balloons released at each intersection will paint Indore in vibrant colors while patriotic songs blaring from speakers will cheer the participants on as they cycle for Shivaji's spirit of bravery and sacrifice. Furthermore, each and every cyclist will be given T-shirts and certificates by committee organizing the marathon.
