The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has now sanctioned an Aerodrome licence to Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL) which is being run by a private entity since 2021. The licence was previously held by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the government body which was earlier operating the airport.

Furthermore, the licence has been granted to the airport operator to provide full access to the management and control operations of the airport in accordance with the concession agreement.

The expansion of Jaipur International Airport underway

Following the possession of the licence, the authorities have started working on the expansion procedure of the airport.
