Alarmed by the soaring COVID numbers in Rajasthan, the administrative authorities have issued directives for night curfew in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Sagwara, and Kushalgarh. As per the guidelines, the ban shall be functional in all these cities from 11 PM to 5 AM. Additionally, the officials have mandated all the markets within the city limits will have to be closed after 10 PM.

Primary schools in the state closed till further notice

The state government has decided to deploy a list of measures to prevent an expedited spread of the coronavirus. Amongst them, it has been decided that all commuters coming to Rajasthan will have to present a negative PT-PCR test to be granted entry into the state boundaries. Taking cognisance of the second COVID wave being observed in some prominent states across the country, the officials in Rajasthan are trying to block the entry of the virus through this rule.

The state administration has also ordered that all primary schools shall be closed till further notice. This move comes to ensure that the young population remains unaffected by the contamination. Recently, the authorities had also cancelled the examinations for pupils of grades 1-5.

On Sunday, Rajasthan had 3,310 active cases while the cumulative count stepped closer to breaching the 3.25 lakh mark, standing at 3,24,948. In Jaipur, the cumulative tally of COVID-affected individuals stood at 60,359 with 667 active cases. While the state government is executing multiple interventions to curtail the pandemic, it is also making sure that a larger number of people are vaccinated as soon as possible.
