In Jaipur & planning a train journey? Here’s a list of 70 cancelled trains you need to know

If you’re someone who lives in Jaipur or has been planning to travel to Jaipur via train, think again. Over 70 trains running from, to and through the Jaipur railway station have been cancelled because of major renovation work happening there. The dilapidated condition of the railway station made it necessary for the authorities to take a major step and block the Jaipur railways station for 50 days (until August 25).

Owing to the block and the renovation work happening at the station, as many as 70 (and above) trains have been cancelled for the remaining month of July and the whole of August. If you’ve booked your tickets to/from Jaipur in advance, we recommend checking the official website of Indian Railways.

Destinations affected

The number of trains affected by the 50 day block are upward 70, which means that several trains travelling via Jaipur have also been cancelled.

The destinations affected most because of the aforementioned renovation work include cities such as Delhi, Chandigarh, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Lucknow, Phulera, Varangal, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Jammu and various other locations, reports TOI.

How long will the block last?

According to reports, the block is expected extend from the end of this month towards the end of next. Which means if you want to see Jaipur in monsoon, don’t even think of booking train tickets. While some trains will start running by the second week of August, most trains will remain cancelled until the end of August and you can expect the normal railway operations to resume by September.

It had become pivotal to renovate the Jaipur railway station, especially after the city was give the “heritage” tag. Tourists from around the globe are expected to flock Jaipur once the temperatures become a little more forgiving and preparing for that makes the renovation a necessity.
