Following an increase in the number of tourists visiting the Pink City, Jaipur International Airport will see an increase in flight operations from this month. At present, 52 flights operate daily from Jaipur airport and the number is likely to increase by 2. Despite airlines planning to increase the number of flights, it would still be less than last year. Last year, in November, an average of 58 flights were operating daily.

Post-COVID-19, the arrival of tourists has reduced in Rajasthan. The authorities are making amends and aim to increase tourist footfall this season.

New flights outbound from Jaipur Airport

According to the Jaipur Airport Administration, 10 flights will take off daily from Jaipur airport, connecting prominent metropolitan cities of India to Jaipur through air service. Improvement in air connectivity to Delhi, Udaipur and Jaisalmer has also been promised by the authorities. A few changes have been initiated by the management from December, which are:

  • New Indigo flight to fly to Delhi from Jaipur at 8:30 AM.

  • 11 daily flights to fly from Jaipur to Mumbai.

  • Irregular SpiceJet flights will now run regularly, especially to Udaipur and Jaisalmer.

  • Daily flights from Jaipur to 14 cities, including flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Guwahati and Dehradun.

  • Flights are available thrice a week to Udaipur, Goa and Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, till last year, Jaipur was connected to 22 cities through air service, however, in the last 8 months the connectivity to 5 cities from Jaipur was brought to a halt. This comes in light of costlier air travel and more people switching to trains for commute.
