North Western Railway has altered the timings for a list of trains operating in this zone. As per reports, the increased speed of trains has led to a reduction in travel time and thereby, the timetable has been modified. Consequently, the timings of over 100 trains travelling across Rajasthan have been changed since October 1. Reportedly, the AC Double Decker Jaipur-Delhi Express (12985-12986) functions at higher speeds now, with a new time schedule.

New schedule for inter-city trains of Rajasthan

According to reports, there is a new schedule for the inter-city trains that carry passengers across various districts of Rajasthan, including the Pink City. Since last year, North Western Railways has been working towards improvising the speed of multiple trains and has successfully elevated the speed of more than 90% of passenger trains.

Reportedly, the North-Western Railways has levelled up the average speed of the trains commuting to Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaipur, by around 30 km per hour. Hence, multiple trains travelling to and from the four districts of Rajasthan witnessed a change in their arrivals and departures. With a surge in the speed of the AC double-decker train (12985-12986) travelling from Delhi to Jaipur, the travel time stands reduced by 10 minutes.

Pre-booked passengers to be informed about new schedule via SMS

Similarly, the Sealdah-Ajmer Special has also marked a reduction of 10 minutes in its schedule. Alongside, the Ajmer-Chandigarh Garib Rath Special and many others have changed times of arrival and departure at various stations. Reportedly, information regarding the change in timings will be circulated via SMS to all travellers who have priorly booked their tickets in any of the trains, with a changed schedule.
