Jaipur's SMS Stadium gears up to host international cricket matches after 8 years!

Slated to begin on November 17, BCCI's nationwide schedule includes 4 Tests, 3 one-day internationals (ODIs) and 14 T20Is.

Cricket fans in Jaipur are in luck, for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has chosen the Pink City to host a string of upcoming matches, including international events too. As per reports, Jaipur is one of the locations to have found a place in the BCCI's schedule of four Tests, three one-day internationals (ODIs) and 14 T20Is, slated to begin on November 17. Reportedly, Jaipur is all set to witness international matches after a long halt of 8 years.

Matches to be held in November 2021 & February 2022

Notably, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has been trying for a long time, to boost the cricket culture in the state. Now, the latest plans are expected to fuel the help in the materialisation of these objectives. Reportedly, an international match was last played in Jaipur, when an ODI match between India and Australia was organised at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium.

As per reports, the teams from New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be visiting India for two Test Matches and three T20Is in November 2021 and March 2022, respectively. Besides, West Indies is all set to be a part of three ODIs and 3 T20s in February 2022. Amongst the upcoming matches, Jaipur's SMS Stadium will host two matches on November 17, 2021 and February 9, 2022. While the first match will be played between India and New Zealand, India and West Indies will be competing in the second match.

According to reports, the collective efforts of RCA authorities and other concerned officials have been conducive to this goal of bringing international cricket back to Rajasthan. Now, it is anticipated that these events will fuel growth and development in the field of sports.
