Back in September, the Health Minister of Rajasthan had ordered in-service private hospitals in Jaipur and 5 other districts- Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Bikaner, to reserve 30% of their beds for patients affected with COVID-19. This move was issued so that COVID-19 patients can be treated effectively, without any external struggles. Now, the count of beds in Jaipur's Intensive Care Units (ICU) for covid treatment, has climbed up in the last 2 weeks.

At present, Jaipur's corona death tally is at 325. So in an effort to arrest this rate and to limit it from promulgating further, orders had been issued by the authorities to increase the number of ICUs and ventilator facilities in the city. Oxygen beds have been increased as well along with other services, as medical professionals have found that high-flow oxygen therapy is useful for covid patients. This order is applicable for both- government and private hospitals.

The Health Minister had previously mentioned that all such private hospitals following the COVID-19 protocols as issued by the authorities, will have to treat corona patients in a separate ward within the hospital premises. This would be helpful in tackling the spread of the disease.

As yet, Rajasthan has registered1,44,030 positive cases of the novel coronavirus and the state has documented 1,545 expiries. Jaipur on the other hand, has reported 23,179 confirmed covid cases and the city has observed 325 fatalities; 14,439 patients have recovered and gone back home in good health. An overall of 21,154 cases are active in the state.
