With an increment in the number of coronavirus cases in Rajasthan which have mounted over 84,674 cases, the state government has prioritised the safety and well being of patients' lives. To facilitate efficient services and medical support, the state has decided to quadruple the current bed capacity at RHUS Hospital in the capital city, Jaipur.

Boosted service for containing virus

As per the directions of the Chief Minister, beds in Rajasthan University of Health Services Hospital are to increase by 4 times their capacity, equipped with high-flow oxygen to ensure prompt and easy availability of high flow of oxygen to serious patients. This facility will be made available at Jaipur which reported 352 fresh cases on Wednesday, stirring concern among the administrative, municipal and health officials alike.

Apart from this, an additional 100-bed capacity COVID Care Centre will be established at the RHUS for infected individuals. The Health Minister also informed that NIMS Medical College in Jaipur will also be equipped with 25 beds with oxygen supports and 75 COVID care beds. Private Hospitals may even be acquired by the state to increase and improve treatment facilities said the State Health Minister.

The state is aiming to strengthen the health infrastructure, focussing on ways to overcome the shortage of manpower that is being faced in this sector. To tame this issue, the process to recruit 6,310 community health officers has begun. Other recruitments on all posts whether radiographers or technicians are being done on priority.
The State Health Minister said that the recruitment will be done with complete transparency and according to the rules.
