A workshop in Taarkashi is something that you don’t find every day and it is an opportunity for you to not just learn something new but to give something back to art, which is the fuel of the Earth.
But what exactly is Taarkashi?
Well, Taarkashi is an art form that is certainly a lot more common than you may think. Ornate wood pieces are made to look all the more aesthetic by lining the hand-drawn shapes with copper wires. Through a process of heating, the wire is then fully embedded into the wooden piece, giving it a distinct look.
Here at the workshop, you will receive lessons in the art form which will involve everything- from the most intricate of things and details to the bigger picture stuff. Different tools, materials and techniques used to make the copper inlay will all be provided to you so that you can showcase your skill.

This masterclass will be taught by none other than Mohan Lal Sharma, who has received many plaudits for his work in the art of Taarkashi. He has been giving something back to this art form ever since he was 14, so you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
