In order to increase the voter percentage of PwDs, Rajasthan’s election department has made some significant changes in its voter policy. With the new policy in place, voters with a disability will have to add divyang before names on the voters’ list by filling out Form-8 available on the Rajasthan government's election portal.

Additionally, the existing voters can also make these changes on the voters’ list. Reportedly, during general assembly elections, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), having a disability certificate, can now vote through postal ballots. Earlier, voting through postal ballots by PwDs was available during by-elections only.

Postal voting is basically voting where ballot papers are distributed and returned by post, in contrast to electors voting in person at a polling station or via an electronic voting system.
