The Children’s Train at Allen Forest Zoo or Kanpur Zoo, is set to resume operations in the new year after a two-year hiatus, following a tragic accident that claimed the life of a 44-year-old teacher. The reintroduction of the train was approved during the 17th meeting of the Park Committee. As per officials, the preparations, including track repairs and safety enhancements, are expected to be completed within the next two months.

The train, comprising four coaches with a total capacity of 84 passengers, operates on a 1.4 km circuit within the zoo. Prior to its suspension, the train attracted an average of 300 children and young visitors daily.
