Covid-19 cases on the rise in Kanpur; 18 fresh cases reported in past 3 days

The health department has issued an appeal to the public to take precautionary measures.

The incidence of COVID-19 cases is on the rise in Kanpur district. Currently, 18 confirmed cases have been reported in both urban and rural regions of the district, on the COVID portal from the city.

Owing to the rapid surge in cases, the Health Department has appealed to the public to take precautionary measures. In case of any individual exhibiting symptoms associated with the virus upon arriving from outside, immediate isolation and testing are strongly advised.

Where have the cases been reported?

Reportedly, out of the 18 cases, 3 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Saturday, including a young man in Ghatampur, a young woman in Patara and a young woman in Azad Nagar. In addition, 3 infected individuals were reported in Ghatampur within a span of three days.

With this, several cases have also been reported in the rural areas of Kanpur. A 23-year-old male residing in Raaha village, Ghatampur block and a 25-year-old female from Barauli in Patara block of Kanpur division have been identified as COVID-19-positive cases through the antigen test.

Incidentally, the health department teams have gathered their medical history and contact tracing measures are currently in progress.
