ElectriVa to set up 12 new EV charging points in Kanpur

With an aim to make a switch from traditional mobility to sustainable mobility in Kanpur, city's civic body awarded the contract to set up 12 EV charging points in Kanpur to ElectriVa. Out of 12 EV charging points, most charging points will be enabled with fast AC-changing capabilities for passenger and commercial electric vehicles.

Setting up EV infrastructure in Kanpur will boost consumption of EVs by the public. Several Indian cities, including, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore have already signed MoUs with startups like ElectriVa for setting up EV charging infrastructure in the city. The move by Kanpur Nagar Nigam will ensure, increased adoption of EVs, reduced dependency on fossil fuel-based fuels and will make way for a sustainable future.

As per the contract, ElectriVa will be tasked to maintain the charging points in Kanpur. Sumit Dhanuka, Founder, ElectriVa says, "We have a target of providing EV charging facilities in the top 100 cities of the country in the next one year. We are already the largest player in Delhi and NCR. In the next three years, ElectriVa will set up, operate and maintain more than one-fourth of total EV stations in India."

According to a FICCI report, by 2026, India will need over four lakh charging stations. ElectriVa is trusted by the Ministry of Power under the Indian Government on its mission to provide innovative and reliable public EV charging solutions in collaboration with transportation, environmental, and governmental units across the nation.
